🧭 Overview
The latest document about the flex attach procedure, inclduding the calibration of the tool can be found in the Module QC Procedure page.
The sections below document the tool drawings as well as related consumables.
Tool Drawings
- baseline_tool_drawings-user-guide.pdf – User guide for the baseline tool drawings.
- baseline_tool_drawings.zip – Complete set of tool drawings in PDF and STEP file formats. Some drawings include minor updates compared to EDMS.
Spare toolings
In addition to the tools available in the assembly sites, 4 spare sets, assembled and calibrated, are still available: - 2 jig sets remain in a controlled area at CERN and can be distributed for an emergency. - 2 jig sets (used) remain in Göttingen.
PEEK pins
Degradation has been noted in some of the assembly tool pins, with a risk of braking components if they get worn.
- Specific item: SNPPKM-D3.00-L8.0: Misumi reference
- Each tool needs 3 of these pins.
- The proposed stragegy is to keep a small store of pins in each assembly side, to replace the deteriorated ones as needed.
A common order of 210 units from Misumi was placed on the 6th Nov 2025 with a lead time of 6 weeks. Therefore, the parts are expected before CERN EoY closure. Delivery to groups will be organised in January.
Spatula
The plastic piece of the spatula (ITPv2.03.01-01) should be replaced after certain number of assemblies. - The precise number of uses has not been assessed,and the recommendation is to substitute it when the repetability and quality of the glue spreading becomes compromised by the material accumulated in the spatula.
A common order of 200 units from Vicsun was placed on the 7th Nov 2025. The parts are expected by the 11th Dec 2025. - As the parts will arrive late to ship them forward. The final distribution will be set in early January.
